Land For Job Scam: Lalu Yadav’s wife and former CM Rabri Devi appeared before ED on Thursday in the case of taking land in exchange for Group D jobs of Railways. According to sources, ED officials interrogated Rabri Devi and took information about many documents from her. Rabri Devi reached the ED office in New Delhi for the first time at 11 am for questioning in a money laundering case related to this case.

According to sources, Rabri Devi went out for an hour to have lunch and again joined the questioning session after two o’clock. During this, information about several transactions was sought from Rabri Devi. This case is related to RJD President Lalu Prasad’s tenure as Railway Minister during the UPA-1 government at the Center.

According to ED sources, 68-year-old Rabri Devi was questioned for about six hours. During this his statements were recorded under PMLA. Earlier, CBI and ED had questioned Rabri Devi’s son and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, MP daughter Misa Bharti, Chanda Yadav and Ragini Yadav in the same case in the last few months.

In this case CBI raided RJD leader’s house

Two days ago, in this case, the CBI raided the residence of RJD MP Premchand Gupta, former MLA Arun Yadav and his MLA wife Kiran Devi and seized a large number of digital documents. The ED had claimed to have seized Rs 1 crore in unaccounted cash and traced the proceeds of crime to Rs 600 crore. The money laundering case is based on the CBI’s FIR.

The agencies allege that during the period 2004-09 various persons were appointed to Group ‘D’ posts in various zones of the Indian Railways and in return the concerned persons transferred their land to the family members of Lalu Prasad. The CBI in its complaint has alleged that no advertisement or public notice was issued for the appointments and some residents of Patna were appointed as officiators in various Zonal Railways located in Mumbai, Jabalpur, Kolkata, Jaipur and Hajipur.
