Yesterday, the Ministry of Communications held a workshop on the guide for managing entrances and exits in the State of Qatar, with the participation of a large number of government agencies, agencies, consultants and strategic partners.
The workshop presented a general summary of the guideline, its components, and the latest updates related to the work done in the guide and international and regional best practices for managing entrances and exits, in addition to giving the participants the opportunity to present their observations and suggestions related to accessibility to plots and different areas and to set standards for controlling how to link entrances and exits to plots located on the roads. Saleh Saeed Al-Marri, Acting Director of the Land Transport Planning Department at the Ministry of Communications, said that the cooperation shown by stakeholders and strategic partners with the Ministry of Communications through the workshop will contribute to achieving the goals and objectives of the project in setting standard operational procedures for managing entrances and exits in the State of Qatar and defining a reference base for reviewing And the issuance of approvals for new entrances and exits and the possibility of developing the current entrances and exits, indicating that the project management team sincerely thanks the stakeholders and partners for their support and contributions during the workshop.
The guide project aims to update the chapter on managing entrances and exits in the road design guide for the State of Qatar for the year 2020, as it is expected that the update will provide a comprehensive framework for managing entrances and exits appropriately, safely and effectively in the road network system and land development projects, including redevelopment.
The project also aims to develop policies and regulations for managing entrances and exits and provide guidance to local government agencies, consultants, developers and planners to address any shortcomings in this regard and meet future requests for entrances and exits based on best international and regional practices, as well as unifying standards with regard to managing permanent and temporary entrances and exits within a country.
