Many roads in the city were damaged during the monsoon. Therefore, to prevent this from happening in future, it has been decided to convert every TP road of 24 meters and 30 meters width into CC overlay. For this, CC over-lays have been designed for roads of length less than 1 km, 1 km to 2 km and more than 2 km. Approval has been sought from the rulers to approve the price as a unit rate for the three consultants who have given consent for the design work according to the three categories.
Roads will be built in this way for the first time in the city. A specific over-lane design is not possible on each road as the thickness of the curb on 24 m and 30 m wide TP roads is different and the traffic pattern and traffic survey of each road is different. Therefore, it has been decided to design over-lanes separately for each road after studying the traffic volumes on a case-to-case basis. Hence the municipality called for quotations for designing CC over-lanes for roads of less than 1 km, roads of 1 km to 2 km length and roads of more than 2 km length.
In which three consultants Metest Engineering Services, Geo Design and Research Pvt Ltd and SVNITA have agreed according to the unit rate. In which 45000 for road less than 1 km, 70 thousand for 1 km to 2 km road, 1 lakh unit rate for road more than 2 km has been fixed. A motion has been placed before the Standing Committee for approval.
