Supreme Court gave SEBI 3 months time to investigate against Gautam Adani, said- file an update report

billionaire industrialist Gautam Adani Today, the Supreme Court has given SEBI three months time to investigate against Significantly, America’s short seller firm Hindenburg Research Company Had accused Gautam Adani’s group of rigging the share prices, after which the Adani Group got a big blow and their shares started falling.

SEBI was given time till August 14

A bench headed by Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud has given SEBI time till August 14 to submit the report. The court has fixed the next hearing of the matter on July 11. The Supreme Court also ordered that a copy of the report submitted by Justice AM Sapre Committee be made available to the parties, so that they can help the court in this matter.

Order for filing of update report

Significantly, a bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud has asked SEBI to file a new and updated report on the investigation into the allegations of manipulation of share prices against Gautam Adani. Apart from the Chief Justice, this bench of the Supreme Court also includes Justice PS Narasimha and Justice Pardiwala.

Lots of politics on allegations

It is to be known that on March 2, the Supreme Court had ordered the formation of a six-member committee to investigate the allegations of rigging the share prices of Gautam Adani’s group. After the allegations of Hindenburg Research Company, there was a lot of politics in the country. The opposition surrounded the Narendra Modi government in Parliament regarding this issue and sought answers from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this issue.
