In this month, on May 17, 2023, on the Trayodashi date of Jyestha month, this fast is being observed during Krishna Paksha.

Budh Pradosh Vrat 2023: Significance

Pradosh Vrat has great importance among Hindus. The Pradosh that falls on Wednesday is called Budh Pradosh. On this special day, devotees indulge in various spiritual and religious activities. Some people meditate, chant various mantras and some go to temples and perform Abhishek to Lord Shiva. Female devotees who are looking for a desired life partner should offer vermilion, bangles, clothes and five fruits to Goddess Parvati and seek her blessings. It is believed that Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are pleased on this day and fulfill all the wishes of their devotees, who worship them with true heart and dedication.

In some places, devotees worship Lord Shiva in the form of Nataraja as it is believed that Lord Shiva appeared in Nataraja form to control the demon Apsamarga, which is responsible for all illusions in life. Hence those who think that they are not getting clarity in life and always feel confused, they should pray to Lord Nataraja to get rid of all confusions.

1. On this day people wake up early and take bath

  1. Install the idol of Shiva family and light a lamp of desi ghee

  2. Recite Shiv Chalisa and perform Aarti

  3. Some people visit the temple on this day and perform Rudrabhishek

  4. People who have some mental problems and facing delay in marriage should observe fast on this day, they should eat kheer and seek blessings from Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati

6. Devotees should chant Om Namah Shivay and Mahamrityunjaya Mantra to get rid of all obstacles and problems.
