Preparations for G-20 conference in full swing, tight security arrangements

Jammu, May 16 (Hindustan Times). Despite opposition from Pakistan and terrorist organizations, preparations are on in full swing for the three-day G-20 conference to be held in Jammu and Kashmir, while strict security arrangements are also being made. Roads and markets will be seen everywhere giving the message of peace and peace to the foreign guests. From Srinagar to Gulmarg, gardens and markets have started appearing in a new form. Glimpses of Kashmir’s culture and beautiful views of nature will also be seen on the walls. Preparations are in the final stage to make the foreign guests feel like a paradise in Kashmir. Srinagar is being decorated like a bride. Four moons are being added to the beauty of other parks including Nishat. Hoardings and banners of G-20 are being put up at various places.

Apart from foreign guests, 12 states and tourism secretaries of the country are also coming to Kashmir. Despite not being a member of the G-20 group, representatives of 6 nations are also coming to the conference. This is the first and the biggest conference to be held in Kashmir during 33 years.

On the other hand, in view of the G-20 conference, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has declared a high alert in the state. Complete arrangements have been made to ensure that the terrorists do not succeed in any of their plans. During the security arrangements, all kinds of arrangements are being made to maintain law and order situation and to deal with any emergency. There will be tight security especially from Srinagar to Gulmarg. NSG and Marine commandos will also be deployed in the tourist destination.

With the apprehension of terrorist attacks in different parts of the state including Srinagar during the G-20 conference, supporters of terrorists and separatists may try to spoil the situation by spreading rumours. The security forces have geared up to foil this conspiracy. The number of security personnel is being increased on all the roads and points leading to the city. QRTs, QATs and CRTs will be deployed at all sensitive locations to deal with any terrorist attack. Police and CRPF personnel will jointly patrol the urban areas. Apart from patrolling, army personnel will also conduct search operations in rural and hilly areas. It has been decided to keep a strict vigil on mischievous elements and rumor mongers. Instructed all concerned officers to take all appropriate measures to eliminate the possibility of rumors in their jurisdiction. If someone spreads rumours, he should be identified immediately and strict action should be taken against him.

In this conference, the art culture of Jammu and Kashmir, handicrafts, cuisine of Jammu and Kashmir and a fair of special agricultural products of Jammu and Kashmir will also be held. Gifts related to Jammu and Kashmir will also be presented to the guests attending the conference. The G-20 Tourism Working Group conference will be held from May 22 to 24 at the Shere Kashmir International Convention Center (SKICC) on the banks of Dal Lake.

Foreign guests coming to participate in this three-day conference will also be aware of the age-old rich and colorful folk culture of the state.

During the conference, a special pavilion for handicrafts will be set up in the SKICC premises where the guests will be able to watch the weavers preparing the goods. Apart from this, a cultural evening based on the folk culture of different regions of Jammu and Kashmir will also be organized in which local folk artists will display their art.

During the conference, the domestic and foreign delegates will be fully informed about the tourist places of Jammu and Kashmir. Along with the information about the heritage sites of Jammu and Kashmir, complete details of tourism will be given. Tourism in Jammu and Kashmir is sure to get a boost after the G-20 conference. The guests will get to see a new picture of Jammu and Kashmir.
