Doctor was practicing on fake documents in Patna’s Paras Hospital, CBI gave information, then FIR was registered

Patna. Dr. Mohd. Shamim Farooqui, working in Paras Hospital, was also involved in the case of taking medical practice or job certificate from Bihar Medical Council on the basis of fake documents without passing foreign medical graduate examination after studying medicine abroad. In December 2022, the CBI had identified 19 doctors who obtained certificates of practice and employment from the Bihar Medical Council on the basis of fake documents. The Delhi CBI had also registered a case against all of them. But despite this Mohd Shamim was doing medical practice at Farukhi Paras Hospital.

The hospital did not know

Paras Hospital was not aware of Shamim Farooqui’s name appearing in the action taken by CBI. But on May 10, when information was given to Paras Hospital by the CBI, he was immediately removed from the job. Also, on May 12, Dr. Nitesh Kumar, Medical Superintendent of Paras Hospital, lodged an FIR against Dr. Shamim Farooqui at Shastri Nagar police station alleging forgery and cheating.

Dr. Shamim Farooqui is a resident of Darbhanga.

Dr. Shamim Farooqui is originally a resident of Lalbagh Bheego Farooqui Complex, Darbhanga. He was working in Paras Hospital from December 16, 2020 to May 10, 2023. In his written complaint, Medical Superintendent Dr. Nitesh Kumar has informed the police that it has been informed by CBI AC 1 Delhi that Dr. Shamim Farooqui had given fake documents at the time of appointment and interview for medical certificate and registration. The Medical Council of India certificate, FMGE certificate and Bihar Council of Medical Registration certificate given by Dr. Shamim Farooqui are fake on the basis of evidence collected by CBI. Here, after registering the case, the police has started searching for Dr. Shamim Farooqi.

CBI had received information regarding 19 doctors

In December 2022, along with Bihar, the CBI had taken action in the case of obtaining license to practice fraudulently from the Medical Council of 14 states. In Bihar, CBI had taken action in Patna, Munger, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur, Champaran, Begusarai, Hajipur, Vaishali and Nalanda. The CBI team had also reached the Bihar Medical Council’s office in Rajendra Nagar. In the raid, the agency also recovered several suspicious documents including several certificates related to FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduation Exam). During this, it was learned that 19 doctors of Bihar had obtained certificates from the Council for medical practice and employment in any institution on the basis of fake documents. Dr. Shamim Farooqui was also one of them.
