Jharkhand News: Contractual (bell based) Assistant Professor working in State University will get honorarium equivalent to Basic Salary Rs.57700 per month. These assistant professors will now be called need-based assistant professors instead of bell-based ones. The extension of tenure of these teachers will be on the basis of regular/backlog appointment of Assistant Professor in the University and College or till the age of 65 years (whichever is earlier). If the posts remain vacant after regular appointment, then the service of these assistant professors will continue. Those whose contribution date is earlier will be given preference.
Principal and HOD will be responsible for class allocation
It will be mandatory for these teachers to take an average of 16 classes per week. It will be the responsibility of all the principals and department heads to allot 16 classes per week compulsorily. If 16 classes are not held, a deduction of Rs 900 per class will be made in the payment of monthly honorarium in proportion to the total classes taken by them. According to the notification issued by the Higher and Technical Education Department, one teaching class of these teachers will be of one hour, while one non teaching class will be of two hours. In non-teaching classes, monthly honorarium will be paid on the basis of participation in work related to laboratory, internal assessment, seasonal work, tutorial class, remedial class and other non-academic work of the institute like IQUAC, NAAC, AISHE etc.
Non-academic work can be done during holidays
Regular classes remain suspended during summer vacations and other vacations. Therefore, non-academic work can be done during this period and honorarium will be paid accordingly. The Principal/Head of the Department will ensure that appropriate non-academic work is taken up for the 16 classes during this period. The Principal/Head of Department can take action for not taking classes or not doing non-academic work.
