UP Municipal Election: Lucknow, after the last assembly elections, now the BSP has got a crushing defeat in the municipal elections as well. Although the party will formally review it, but informally the party leaders and workers are already discussing the reasons for the defeat. After the defeat, now flaws are visible on every front. From sluggish election campaign to election strategy and Muslim votes, discussions are being held in the party. BSP got only one seat in the assembly elections. Then after the review, it was revealed that the Muslim vote unilaterally went to the SP. Because of this the party had to face such a huge defeat. After this poor performance, BSP chief Mayawati changed the strategy. He made every bet for Muslim votes in the municipal elections. Inducted Imran Masood, Shah Alam alias Guddu Jamali into the party and put them forward. 11 out of 17 mayor tickets were given to Muslims. Apart from this, many tickets were given to Muslims on other posts as well. All these efforts went in vain. BSP’s performance in the municipal elections was worse than the 2017 performance.
