IPL: KKR captain Nitish Rana fined Rs 24 lakh

New Delhi, May 15 (Hindustan Times). Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Nitish Rana has been fined after maintaining a slow over-rate during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday.

As this was his team’s second offense of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Rana has been fined Rs 24 lakh. Apart from this, each member of the playing XI, including impact players, has been fined Rs 6 lakh or 25 per cent of the match fee. Talking about the match, KKR defeated CSK by 6 wickets in this match.

Batting first in the match, CSK scored 144 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs thanks to important innings of Shivam Dubey (48 not out), Devon Conway (30) and Ravindra Jadeja (20). In response, KKR won the match by scoring 147 runs for 4 wickets in 18.3 overs thanks to half-centuries from captain Nitish Rana (57 not out) and Rinku Singh (54).
