The arbitration committees of the sixth edition of the “Future Writers” program affiliated with Qatar Charity concluded the stage of confrontation with male and female students participating in the competition, and the committees determined the winning works in it, in preparation for announcing the names of the first three centers from the various educational stages, and honoring them at the closing ceremony, which will be held on the third The twenty of this month of May.
Experts and specialists from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, professors from Qatar University, children’s writers, and those interested in education and children’s literature participated in the arbitration of students’ work at all levels. The evaluation criteria included: the creative idea of ​​the story, events, plot, characters, language, writing style, and others.
Facing participating students
Regarding the evaluation of the stories and the importance of confronting the participating male and female students to choose the winning works, the writer and playwright Ahmed Abdel Rahman Al-Muftah (member of the jury / secondary school) said: After the editorial evaluation of the students’ written stories, confronting the students comes as a distinct step to complete this stage accurately in order to identify the owners of the stories that were left in Our souls influenced or raised a question, and how pleased we were that some of them were discussing and insisting on expressing their point of view.
He noted that there was a discrepancy in the submitted works in terms of the creative idea and methods of writing them.. The result was inevitable that distinguished stories would get higher grades. For her part, Dr. Seetah Al-Athba from the Department of Arabic Language – Qatar University and a member of the jury (undergraduate) stated that confronting the student participants gives a deeper dimension to the writer’s understanding and thinking, and therefore a more comprehensive and accurate understanding of the story presented by the participant in terms of the plot, the choice of the narrator and his artistic awareness of all writing mechanisms. the story. She believed that the evaluation and confrontation with the students participating in the program revealed impressive levels that are developing year after year, noting that she is very proud of them and their creativity.

The writer, Dr. Louay Khalil from the Department of Arabic Language – Qatar University and a member of the judging committee (undergraduate level) explained that confronting students in the final stage of evaluation is important for the participating students and the jury. Confrontation to touch the strengths of their texts and help them to know the ways to develop the texts that the committee will provide them with.
He added: The general level of the texts seems advanced in terms of language and in terms of storytelling, but some of them still complain about the dominance of the preaching and direct method, while other texts promise promising writers, God willing.
