Prayagraj: The judicial commission probing the murder of mafia Atiq Ahmed and his brother Khalid Rashid Ashraf in Prayagraj has issued notices to 21 policemen engaged in their security. One month has been completed for the Atiq-Ashraf murder case. The policemen posted in the security of both will have to answer on all the points related to the incident, from their presence at the time of the murder.

There will also be questions related to the attackers. Apart from this, despite expressing the threat to the lives of both, why was there negligence? Instead of taking Atiq and Ashraf for medical, questions like why the team of doctors was not called to them.

The commission also called them for statement

Along with this, the judicial commission has also called eyewitnesses, media persons, health workers for statements regarding Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf murder case, they will have to give their statement before the commission within 15 days. The commission will go to the bottom of the matter after getting information from every person present during the massacre and a report will be prepared on the basis of this.

Five policemen have been suspended

Earlier, the judicial commission team that reached Prayagraj had questioned some policemen. Now the team of the commission has issued a notice to the policemen for recording a written statement. Five policemen of Shahganj police station were suspended for their negligence regarding the Atiq-Ashraf murder case. Apart from Shahganj SO Ashwani Kumar Singh, two sub-inspectors and two constables are included in this. The SIT had questioned all the policemen including the SO regarding the murder. After this action was taken against all on the basis of SIT report.

Atiq and Ashraf were shot dead on April 15 at Calvin Hospital. While being taken for medical treatment, three assailants opened fire and carried out the incident. All the three murderers Lavlesh Tiwari, Sunny Singh and Arun Maurya are currently in Pratapgarh Jail.

A five-member commission is probing the matter

The Yogi Adityanath government has constituted a five-member commission under the leadership of former Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court Dilip Babasaheb Bhosle to investigate the matter. It includes former Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court Virendra Singh, former Justice Arvind Kumar Tripathi (II) of Allahabad High Court, former Director General of Police Subesh Kumar Singh and former Justice Brijesh Kumar Soni.
