Amrit Bharat Yojana has been started by the Central Government for the modernization of railway stations. Under this, now all the small railway stations that come under Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Mandal are also included. After joining the scheme, the railways will get the development work done here. According to the information, under this, works related to development will also be done at Guraru and Rafiganj stations adjacent to Gaya. Under this scheme, a master plan is being prepared to increase other facilities other than minimum essential facilities at railway stations. It will be implemented in a phased manner with a target. In this, the needs of the stakeholders have also been taken care of. Along with the introduction of new facilities at the station, old facilities will also be upgraded.

when will the work be completed

All works will be completed in one year or maximum 18 months. Under this, many important passenger facilities like automatic staircase, lift, train coach indicator, library, rooftop plaza, city center, WiFi, long platform, first class passenger waiting room, book stall are to be increased. However, due to shortage of laborers at some railway stations, difficulties are being faced in completing the work. But, still a plan has been made to complete the work by engaging additional labourers. So that, within the time limit, people can get every facility to the railway passengers.

The upgradation works of passenger amenities mainly include station approach roads, gates and development of station premises, platform shelters, LED name boards of stations, adequate lighting in station premises, cafeteria, local art and culture in different stations. Plans for beautification of stations, installation of CCTV cameras, disabled friendly toilets, space for parcels, marking of suitable places for offices located at stations, signage, installation of CCTV etc. are included in this project.

Chief Public Relations Officer of Hajipur Virendra Kumar told that on the instructions of the Central Government, the Amrit Bharat Yojana will be implemented by the Railways at about 1000 railway stations across the country. He told that the objective of this scheme is to prepare master plan of railway stations. To increase the facilities at the railway station, the master plan has to be implemented in several phases. Under this new scheme, there will be an investment of 10 to 20 crores on each selected small station.
