BJP had already claimed Shettar’s defeat

BJP had already claimed the defeat of Jagdish Shettar. The party rejected suggestions that the BJP was using all its might to defeat Shettar and Savadi. He also denied that ensuring the defeat of both the leaders has become a matter of prestige for the BJP.

Shettar may have severed his ties with the BJP and joined the Congress. But his heart is still beating for BJP. This is because there is still a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in his office. Shettar said he was also denied ticket by the BJP because of apprehensions that he could be the number one leader among Lingayats after former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa.
