An independent candidate was declared victorious in Kadipur Nagar Panchayat on Saturday during the counting of votes for the UP civic elections by just 3 votes, but alas, that candidate was not present to celebrate the victory. The reason was that the candidate had died of a heart attack just a day earlier i.e. on Friday. At the same time, when the election results came out, it was known that he had won the election.

In fact, the counting of votes took place in all the civic bodies of Uttar Pradesh. The results of Nirala Nagar ward also came in Sultanpur’s Nagar Panchayat Kadipur, in which the deceased candidate of Nirala Nagar ward, Santram won. Santram contested the election as an independent. He got a total of 217 votes. Santram defeated his opponent Ramesh by three votes. But, Santram had died of a heart attack on Friday, a day before the counting of votes.

According to information, Santram died of a heart attack on Friday while guarding the mango orchard. As soon as the news of the death of the councilor candidate Sant Prasad was received, a wave of mourning ran in his area. Nagar Panchayat Kadipur has ten wards. Nirala Nagar ward is also included in this.

Saint Prasad used to trade fruits and vegetables

Sant Prasad was 65 years old. He has two sons and five daughters. All the daughters are married. Sant Prasad used to do business of seeds, fruits and vegetables. According to SDS Shiv Kumar, now re-election will be held in Nirala ward number 10 of Kadipur Nagar Panchayat.

Let us tell you that on May 4 and 11, voting was held in two phases in UP, whose votes were counted today. In the first phase, elections were held on 10 Municipal Corporations, 104 Municipal Councils and 276 Nagar Panchayats in 37 districts of UP. In the second phase, elections were held on 7 Municipal Corporations, 95 Municipal Councils and 268 Nagar Panchayats in 38 districts.
