The Delhi Police has informed a special court that an SIT has been constituted to probe allegations of sexual harassment against Wrestling Federation of India President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
Delhi Police told a special court here on Friday that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to probe allegations of sexual harassment leveled by women wrestlers against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. . The police gave this information in the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Harjeet Singh Jaspal. The court had earlier directed the police to file a status report.
Public Prosecutor Atul Srivastava told the court that considering the seriousness of the matter, we have formed an SIT. SIT will investigate the matter. He said that a status report has been filed in the matter. He requested that considering the seriousness of the matter, the report should not be shared with anyone. Delhi Police has submitted the report in a sealed cover.
After hearing the arguments, the court fixed May 27 for the next hearing on the matter. The court had issued a notice to the Delhi Police on the petition of the wrestlers. In the petition, it has been requested to monitor the investigation and record the statements of the alleged victims before the court. The protesting wrestlers are demanding the arrest of Singh. They allege that Singh sexually assaulted several female wrestlers, including a minor.

Delhi Police has registered two FIRs against Bharatiya Janata Party MP Brij Bhushan Singh, out of which one FIR has been registered under Section 10 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. Singh has denied all the allegations.
