Lucknow, May 12 (Hindustan Times). A big ten-day National Theater Festival is going to be held in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, from May 18, in which there will be an opportunity to see the famous theater workers of the country performing. The color lovers of the city will get this opportunity at the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the theater institution Darpan. The theatrical festival will continue till May 27.
This information was given by Dr. Anil Rastogi, general secretary of ‘Darpan’ and senior theater and film artist. He told that in fact the Diamond Jubilee of the organization was to be celebrated two years ago in 2021 itself, but due to the Corona pandemic it had to be pushed forward.
Renowned artists Anup Soni, Juhi Babbar, and Dr. Rastogi himself will also be seen participating in the play in this drama festival of Darpan. Told that more than a hundred color workers are coming to participate in this. The first nine plays in the ceremony were located in Gomti Nagar, U.P. While the Sangeet Natak Akademi will be staged, the drama will be staged at the Bharatendu Natya Akademi on the last day of the ceremony. He told that on the opening day of May 18, the show will start from 6:30 pm. On the rest of the days, there will be shows from 7 pm.
He told that on the first day, the play ‘Swaha’ will be staged under the direction of Lucknow Darpan’s presentation Shubhdeep Raha. On the other day, on May 19, there will be ‘Prem Ramayana’ by The Film and Television Society of Mumbai, which will be directed by Atul Satya Kaushik. On the third day, on the 20th, Ballygunge 1990 will be staged under his direction. On the fourth day, May 21, ‘With Love Aapki Saiyara’ will be staged by Ekjuta Sanstha of Mumbai, it will be directed by Juhi Babbar. On May 22, ‘Ghalib in New Dehli’, a presentation by Peyots Sanstha of New Delhi, will be staged. It will be directed by Dr. Saeed Alam. On 23rd ‘Mahabali’ will be staged by Darpan, Gorakhpur under the direction of Manoj Sharma. After this, the plays Andhayug, Bayan, Laila Majnu and Mai Re Mai Ka Se Kahun will be staged by the National School of Drama from May 24 to 27 respectively. The last show of the play will be held at Bharatendu Natya Akademi Auditorium. On this day the program will start from 4 pm.
Dr. Anil Ranstogi, general secretary of the organization told that in the year 1961, Prof. Darpan Natya Sanstha was established in Satyamurti. Ten years after that in 1971 this branch was started.
