Surat-based KP Group, India’s pioneer in the renewable sector, has created history. KPI Green Energy Limited (NSE- BSE Listed) functioning under KP Group is credited with setting up and commissioning the first hybrid powered wind turbine on the soil of South Gujarat.
The visionary chairman and managing director of the company, Farooq G. Patel took this project forward by getting a scientific assessment done. The company has installed a total of 7 wind turbines (wind mills) in Kora village of Bharuch district under the hybrid project. Whereas, solar plants have been set up in Saroj and Samoj. Till now Gujarat’s Bhavnagar, Porbandar, Kutch region were considered to be the most favorable region for wind turbines, but this study venture of KP Group has given a new direction to the renewable energy sector and has laid the foundation for wind mill sector in South Gujarat. .
KP Group CMD Farooq G. Patel said that due to the business-friendly renewable energy policy of the Gujarat government, the project could be completed smoothly. He also thanked Suzlon and Savion Company for prompt provision of turbines. Mr. Farooq Patel expressed his special thanks to Mr. Bakul Limbasia, the promoter of Novio Jewelery LLP, who first believed in the vision of our company and invested in it. He also thanked the stakeholders for keeping their trust. Farooq Patel further said that it is a matter of pride for us that we are contributing towards Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi’s target of 500 GW of renewable energy.
It has installed seven wind turbines under CPP for Novio Jewelery LLP, Green Lab Diamond, Mono Steel and one turbine itself under IPP by KPI Green Energy Ltd.
KP Group is looking forward to set up many more projects in South Gujarat and is moving ahead with a target of setting up 2 GW of solar-wind energy projects by the year 2025.
