Araria, May 12 (Hindustan Times). On the orders of the Ministry of Home Affairs, hundreds of years of illegally encroached slums, houses and shops are being demolished and removed by the administration on the Noman’s Land of the Indo-Nepal border for two days by running bulldozers. also continued.

The checkpost made by the Customs Department on the border was demolished and removed. Adopting a strict attitude, the administration freed the Noman’s Land from encroachment. Two days back, the administration had miked and instructed the people to vacate the Noman’s Land.

Hundreds of SSB personnel along with the police of several police stations under the leadership of Farbisganj SDO Surend Kumar Albela reached the Jogbani border on Friday to get the Noman’s land free from encroachment and then on the second day took strict action against the illegally built huts. Illegally encroached land was freed from encroachment by running bulldozers on shops and houses.

On the occasion, Farbisganj Police Station President Aftab Ahmed, Jogbani Police Station President Bhagatlal Mandal, Bathnaha Police Station Incharge Nandkishore Nandan, Phulkaha Police Station along with SSB jawans and women constables had reached Jogbani to deal with any kind of ruckus.

The exercise to make Noman’s land encroachment-free was started from Tikulia township ward number three on Thursday. In Tikulia, more than fifty houses built by encroachment on Noman’s land were demolished. was also dismantled and removed.

In Jogbani, which comes under Purnia district, in 1988, a campaign to remove encroachment from Noman’s Land was launched by the then District Magistrate Ramsevak Sharma, but after the formation of Araria district, due to administrative indifference, the Noman’s land was re-encroached upon by the encroachers and turned into a slum. Another shop was built. Now, on the orders of the Ministry of Home Affairs, once again the Noman’s Land has been made encroachment free.

On this occasion Forbesganj SDO Surendra Kumar Albela said that in the light of the order of Ministry of Home Affairs, the Noman’s Land is being made encroachment free. Indo-Nepal has engaged officials from both countries to free it. He himself has held talks with the CDO of Morang, including the Mayor and other officials of Nepal. He said that if anyone builds anything on it again, legal action will be taken against him.
