For this, on Thursday, CID officials have contacted the officials of the Indian Cybercrime Co-ordination Center, a wing working under the Ministry of Home Affairs, which cooperates in the prevention and research of cybercrime.
In the preliminary investigation of the matter, it has been learned that the app through which the GV Football game is played is a Chinese app. Through this, cheating has happened in different states of the country. Through this, people were asked to bet on a football player. In the beginning those who invested less money in it were given double the profit.
Later, in order to earn more profit, people started investing more money. After this his money got drowned. In the investigation so far, 25 cases of transfer of money through UPI have come to the fore. According to police officials, data has been stolen from the mobiles of those who downloaded the app and played the game or those who downloaded the link.
CID DG issued instructions for rescue
CID DG Anurag Gupta has issued instructions to the common people to avoid cheating. He has requested the common people that those who have downloaded this app should remove it from their mobiles or leave the WhatsApp group created to play the game. Because the website named GB Football is also fake. If someone becomes a victim of fraud, then he should inform about this on the helpline number 1930.
