Bihar government got land for Mumbai’s shelter, facility will be available for cancer patients to stay

It is a matter of relief for Biharis going to Mumbai for cancer treatment. Now a shelter will soon be built for them in Mumbai. For this, the Mumbai Port Trust has given 2752 square meters of land to the Government of Bihar on a prime location of Mumbai on a lease of 60 years. The annual lease rent of this land will be 2752. However, for this, the state government will have to pay the total premium including GST to the Mumbai Port Trust within a month of Rs 155 crore.

Bihar Foundation was continuously taking initiative since 2009

The Bihar government has received the letter of land allotment from the Mumbai Port Trust. The state government and the Bihar Foundation were continuously taking initiatives for this from the year 2009. This land is close to the railway station and the building of Bihar Foundation here will help thousands of people from the state who go to Mumbai for cancer treatment.

Ministry of Ports, Shipping, Transport and Waterways issues order to Mumbai Port to give land to Bihar on May 1

The Government of Bihar has been continuously urging the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, Transport and Waterways to make the land of Mumbai Port Trust available to the Bihar Foundation. The meeting of the Empowered Committee of the Ministry was held on June 29, 2022 for the allotment of land. The committee had recommended the ministry to allot land to Bihar. In light of this, the ministry ordered the Mumbai Port Trust for this on May 1 and the trust issued an allotment letter to the Bihar government on May 3.
