UP civic elections: Ayodhya wins in municipal corporations, Ghaziabad most backward, know voting percentage in cities

In the second phase of UP civic elections, elections were held in seven municipal corporations on Thursday. According to the figures of the Election Commission, till five o’clock in the evening, the highest turnout was recorded in Ramnagari Ayodhya and the lowest in Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation. In Ayodhya, 45.7 percent voters and in Ghaziabad 36.87 percent voters exercised their franchise.

Voters cast their votes for the post of Mayor in Meerut, Ghaziabad, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Aligarh, Kanpur and Ayodhya Municipal Corporation on Thursday in the second phase of civic elections in the state. Among these, 41.62 percent voters in Meerut, 36.87 percent in Ghaziabad, 44.2 percent in Shahjahanpur, 37.66 percent in Bareilly, 41 percent in Aligarh, 39 percent in Kanpur and 45.7 percent in Ayodhya participated in the great festival of democracy and fulfilled their responsibility.
