Qatar Chamber elections postponed to May 28

His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber, announced the postponement of the meeting of the General Assembly of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which was scheduled for yesterday, Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at the Chamber’s headquarters, due to the lack of a quorum, pointing out that the second meeting of the General Assembly The room will be held on Sunday, May 28, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, and the meeting will be valid regardless of the number of attendees.
The Chamber had invited its members to attend the meeting, whose agenda includes hearing the report of the Board of Directors on the activity and business of the Chamber and its financial position for the year ending December 31, 2022, hearing the auditor’s report on the Chamber’s budget, final accounts, and the statement of revenues and expenses for the fiscal year ending on December 31, 2022 and approving it. Absolving the members of the Board of Directors from liability, discussing and approving the estimated budget for the fiscal year 2023, appointing a legal auditor for the fiscal year 2023 and determining his fees, and electing members of the Chamber’s Board of Directors for the seventh session 2023.
It is mentioned that those who are entitled to attend the meeting of the General Assembly and elect members of the Board of Directors who pay the subscription fees must attend with a copy of the commercial register and proof of identity. The power of attorney is attested by the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and endorsed by the Chairman of the Elections Committee, as the Chamber continues to provide the service of authenticating powers of attorney until the day preceding the date of the Chamber’s General Assembly meeting. The member may also carry a power of attorney from the Real Estate Registration and Authentication Department at the Ministry of Justice.
