Fadnavis-Shinde termed Supreme Court’s decision as victory of democracy and public opinion

Mumbai, May 11 (Hindustan). Maharashtra leaders have welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision in the Uddhav Thackeray vs Eknath Shinde case. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the Supreme Court’s decision was a victory for democracy and public opinion, while Chief Minister Eknath Shinde described the Supreme Court’s decision as a victory for truth.

After the decision of the Supreme Court, Devendra Fadnavis said that we are satisfied with the decision of the Supreme Court. Mahavikas Aghadi has got a blow of this decision, because after this decision, Uddhav Thackeray cannot be made the Chief Minister again. Along with this, the Supreme Court has handed over the full authority of suspension of MLAs to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. Devendra Fadnavis said that the Supreme Court has also upheld the decision of the Election Commission. The Election Commission can take an independent decision about any party. He said that we welcome the decision of the court. Now everyone should respect it.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that truth has won with the decision of the Supreme Court. Majority is always important in a democracy. We had already studied all the legal aspects and formed the government as per the rules. Our government is constitutional, this has been proved today by the decision of the Supreme Court. CM Shinde said that everyone has welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has entrusted the right of suspension of MLAs to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly will decide on merit in this regard. CM Shinde said that the then Governor had taken the decision according to the circumstances of that time. Therefore, the Governor cannot be faulted in this regard.
