IPL: RCB in Suryakumar’s storm, Mumbai Indians won the match by 6 wickets

Mumbai, 09 May (Hindustan Times). In the 54th match of IPL 2023 played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Indians defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 6 wickets. Once again Mumbai Indians chased down the target of 200 runs easily. Middle-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav, Nehal Wadhera and opener Ishan Kishan played an important role in this. With this victory, the franchise team of Mumbai has reached the third position, taking a long jump in the points table.

Chasing the target of 200 runs given by Bangalore on their home ground, Mumbai Indians got off to a brisk start and by the 5th over the team’s score was beyond 50. Opener Ishaan Kishan hit 42 runs in 21 balls. Ishaan was caught behind by Vanendu Hasaranga. Soon after this, captain Rohit Sharma also returned to the pavilion. Rohit scored only 7 runs. After this Suryakumar Yadav and Nehal Wadhera batted that Bangalore bowlers could not even find the right line length. Both added 140 runs in 64 balls for the third wicket. However, Suryakumar got out after scoring 83 runs in 35 balls with the help of 7 fours and 6 sixes. While Nehal Wadhera played the responsibility and gave the team victory with 21 balls remaining. Nehal remained unbeaten after scoring 52 runs in 34 balls. Hasaranga and Vijay Kumar got two wickets each for Bangalore.

Earlier, while batting, Royal Challengers Bangalore set a target of 199 runs losing 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Captain Faf du Plessis played a strong innings of 65 and Glenn Maxwell 68 for Bangalore. Whereas Virat Kohli could score only one run. In the last over, Dinesh Karthik contributed 30 runs, Kedar Jadav 12 runs and Hasaranga contributed 12 runs. Jason Behrendorff bagged three wickets for Mumbai, while Cameron Graeme, Kumar Karthikeya and Chris Jordan got one each.
