Dr. Al-Derham added: “The comprehensive renaissance that the State of Qatar is witnessing at the various economic, social and political levels would not have been possible without the grace of God first, and your insightful vision and wise will to lead the ship of our beloved homeland, in the footsteps of what the founding fathers of the State of Qatar laid down, and in accordance with For clear strategies, goals and objectives, and implementation plans that are subject to continuous monitoring and evaluation. In this context, Qatar University has realized its responsibility as the mother national university and its role as a major tributary to supply the labor market with the competencies necessary to achieve the country’s development plans, and as a house of expertise that all sectors of the country and components of society benefit from.

We are also on the verge of approving the university’s strategic plan for the next stage in line with the third national development strategy (2023-2030). At Qatar University, we are working to achieve and sustain three integrated goals: the quality of the educational process, the excellence of scientific research, and the upgrading of institutional work and administrative efficiency, which enhances the competitiveness of the university at the regional and international levels. One of the fruits of this was that the university obtained the highest levels of institutional accreditation this year from the WASC, which is one of the most prominent university accreditation institutions in the world.

The university’s obtaining institutional accreditation confirms four clear results: the first: the university’s commitment to performing its national mission in advancing comprehensive and sustainable development, and the second: consistency of standards Qatar University, which I mentioned about the quality of the educational process, the excellence of scientific research and administrative competence with the highest international academic standards, the third: the importance of concerted efforts, the accumulation of experiences and work in a team spirit to achieve continuous development, and the fourth result: the university’s commitment to transfer this experience to higher education institutions in the country in order to achieve and support the concept of integration between them.

His Excellency the University President added: “On the international level, Qatar University continued its progress in the international rankings of universities this year. According to the QS classification, the university ranked 208th in the world. The university also ranked 226 according to the Times Higher Education rankings. Qatar University also ranked second among Arab universities according to both classifications. This recognition and acknowledgment of the position that Qatar University occupies was the subject of praise and appreciation from the higher education community internationally, which led the university to win the honor of hosting and organizing a number of the largest scientific conferences internationally. For example, next fall, the university will host the General Conference of the International Organization of Universities, which was founded in 1950, and whose membership includes more than 600 universities from more than 120 countries. The university is also hosting the conference of the International Federation of Interventional Health Education and Practice, as these two conferences are being held for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa region.
