Surat Municipal Corporation is implementing 24 hours water scheme in the new Katargam zone area, but there is a lot of resentment among the people of this area as they are getting water only for two hours. Apart from this, people are in a quandary because the municipality has given the bill of eight to ten months to the people for clothes once. In this way, people have demanded not to pay the bill simultaneously and to supply sufficient water.

At present, the 24-hour water scheme has been started by Surat Municipality, but the local people allege that water is being supplied only for two hours in the catchment area covered under this scheme. Locals allege that the municipality is touting a 24-hour water scheme, but not enough water is being provided. Water supply is available only for two hours in Utran area. Since this is not enough for the people, the problems of the people are increasing.

Apart from this, due to the poor management of the system of the Municipal Corporation, the people of this area have been handed over the water bills for eight to ten months together. Due to whose amount being ten thousand, the condition of the middle class people has become worse. There is a lot of anger among the people against the functioning of the municipality as despite repeated offers of not providing enough water and not paying the bill together, the municipal corporation did not pay any heed. Local women protested by raising slogans against such policy of the municipality.
