Kolkata, May 9 (Hindustan Times). Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who reached Kolkata on the 163rd birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, visited Jorasanko Thakurbari. Gurudev was born here. There is also Rabindra Bharati University in this.

Amit Shah started his program in Kolkata by garlanding the statue of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore at Thakurbari. After this he went around the entire campus. University Vice-Chancellor Nirmalya Narayan Chakraborty told Hindusthan News that he went around the Thakurbari campus and saw everything related to the memories of Gurudev. He also asked what is the date and time of Gurudev’s birth. Unfortunately, we did not have information about this, about which Shah said that when the information is received, he will definitely send it to me. He also visited Gurudev’s room and wrote his experience in Gujarati in the visitor’s book kept here in the premises. Seeing the picture of the meeting of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and Einstein here at Vichitra Bhawan, Amit Shah wanted to know where the two met. Amit Shah also saw the genealogy of Gurudev. He also asked the Vice-Chancellor about who all are in his family now.

Nirmalya claimed that Amit Shah was very happy. He has expressed satisfaction over the way the memories of Gurudev have been preserved here. He was welcomed by the university by giving him a reply and a bouquet. He was also gifted some books related to Gurudev. Many top state BJP leaders were also present along with Amit Shah on the occasion.
