After the forecast of unseasonal rains in Gujarat, now it has been predicted to get severe heat. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has declared an orange alert in view of the possibility of temperature reaching 43 to 45 degrees in the state for the next five days. Apart from this, an advisory has been issued regarding the things that the citizens should take care of. ORS packets have been kept at all health centers of the corporation as well as at some stands of BRTS and AMTS. Orange alert has been given by the Municipal Corporation in Ahmedabad till May 14. The temperature could touch 44 degrees in the next five days.

Apart from this, 41 degrees in Rajkot, 41.6 in Ahmedabad, 41.4 in Gandhinagar, 41 in Bhuj, 40.5 in Deesa, 40.5 in Patan, 40.2 in Vadodara, 39.9 in Junagadh, 38.2 in Bhavnagar and 36 degrees in Surat were recorded. The temperature is likely to rise further in the coming days.
There is no chance of rain in the state for five days
Heat wave has started in most of the districts including Ahmedabad since last two days. Due to the scorching heat, silence spreads on the streets in the afternoon. The temperature is likely to increase in most of the cities of the state. The Meteorological Department estimates that the heat will increase further in the coming days. Along with this, Orange Alert has been given in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. On Monday, the temperature in Ahmedabad was recorded at 41.4 degrees. Due to the heat on Tuesday, the temperature can reach 42 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, there is very little chance of rain in the state for the next five days.

Since the beginning of May, 108 ambulances have treated 465 people with complaints of abdominal pain and 304 people with dizziness and fainting in the week before the peak of summer. Between May 1 and 7, 108 ambulances were sent to different areas of Ahmedabad, receiving 1151 calls including abdominal pain, diarrhea and vomiting due to heat. Apart from this, people have been advised to take more liquid drinks like buttermilk and water. If symptoms like dizziness, muscle pain, nausea, vomiting occur, immediate treatment is suggested.
ORS packets kept at the bus stand
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Health Department Head Dr. Bhavin Solanki told the media that after the Orange Alert in Ahmedabad city, ORS packets have been placed by the Municipal Corporation at all AMTS and BRTS bus stands in the city. Citizens of Ahmedabad are appealed to stay indoors as much as possible during afternoon hours and drink plenty of fluids. People who work in air-conditioned offices and places and if suddenly they have to go outside, they are more likely to get heatstroke.
