Rest shed shed broken during rain in Pavagadh, woman killed and eight injured

Pavagadh / Ahmedabad, May 4 (Hindustan Times). A woman died after a slab of a stone rest shed fell at Machi in Pavagadh, a pilgrimage site in Halol tehsil of Panchmahal district. Eight people have been injured in this accident. All the injured have been admitted to Halol hospital.

It was told that for the convenience of the passengers, a resting place with concrete slabs has been made near Chachar Chowk in Machi of Pavagadh. On Thursday afternoon, it started raining suddenly with thunderstorms. Many devotees stood under the resting place to avoid the rain. Meanwhile the stone slab fell. Many people were buried under the heavy slab of concrete. By the time they were removed, a woman had died. Apart from this, three other men, three women and two children were injured and buried. One woman suffered serious injuries in the stomach and another in the head.

On getting information about the incident, the local people and the police reached the spot. Private vehicles and 108 emergency ambulance service took all the injured to the nearby Halol hospital. It was told that most of them are members of the same family. Woman Gangaben Devipujak (40) died in the incident. Apart from this, Meenaben Palas (21), Rajvansh Devipujak (21), Sumitraben Rathwa (18), Vijaybhai Devipujak (25), Mariben Devipujak (5), Deepakbhai Devipujak (28), Sonalben Devipujak (30) and Daksha Devipujak (2) were injured. have become
