Most of the children who have applied under RTE in Vadodara and whose applications have been accepted are likely to get admission in class-1. According to the information received, those who get admission in the first phase can be informed on Wednesday and Thursday. According to sources in the DEO office, this time due to the changed rules for admission, there have already been fewer applications. This year it was mandatory for parents to upload their Income Tax Return and PAN card while filling the online form for admission. If parents are not filing IT returns, they should upload their self-declaration that the income shown by me is correct. Also, it was mandatory for the guardian to upload the PAN card. If there is no PAN card, then it was also necessary to declare it. Along with this, the age limit rule of 6 years has also been implemented for admission in class 1. Due to both these things, relatively fewer applications have come this time.

According to DEO office sources, 4445 seats are available in class-I in schools under RTE in Vadodara and against this 6795 applications were made. Out of these, 1300 parents withdrew their applications and around 800 applications were rejected during verification due to various reasons. Thus now the number of approved applications becomes 4567. Thus most of them are likely to get admission under RTE. There were also some guardians that in some cases discrepancies were also noticed between the income shown in the Income Tax Return and the income shown in the Income Statement and such applications were rejected. In cases of self-declaration also this time adequate verification will be done after completion of admission process.
