IPL: Rain played spoilsport, one point each for Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants

Lucknow, 03 May (Hindustan Times). Rain played spoilsport in the IPL match between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants on Wednesday. The match was stopped midway and both the teams were awarded one point each. This left the audience disappointed as well.

Batting first against Chennai in this match of 20-20 overs, Lucknow scored 125 runs for seven wickets in 19.2 overs, but after that it rained and then the match could not be played again. Nicholas Pooran got out after scoring 20 runs in 30 balls. No boundary was hit with Puran’s bat. Badoni looked in fine touch, hitting a blistering 59 off 33 balls.

Youngster Ayush Badoni played a brilliant inning for Lucknow on a spin-friendly pitch. Badoni brought up his half-century in just 30 balls and pulled his team out of a dire situation. During this, four strong sixes were hit on Ikana’s slow pitch, while two fours were also hit. Lucknow Giants got 15 runs in the 17th over. During this, Ayush Badoni hit a four and a six in this over of Mahesh Dikshana.

Earlier, the Lucknow batsmen were seen struggling completely. After 14 overs, Lucknow Super Giants could score only 62 runs for 5 wickets. Score of 44 in the 10th over, Lucknow Super Giants lost the fifth wicket. Young Karan Sharma got out after scoring 9 runs. Moin Ali caught him out on his own ball. KL Rahul is not playing in this match. In the seventh over, Ravindra Jadeja gave a big blow to Lucknow Super Giants.

Jadeja bowled out Marcus Stoinis. Lucknow’s fourth wicket fell on the score of 34. In the sixth over, Mahish Dikshana gave two blows to Lucknow. Deekshana first dismissed Manan Vohra and then sent captain Krunal Pandya to the pavilion as well. Powerplay completely belonged to Chennai.
