PetroChina, China’s largest oil and gas producer, recorded a 12.1% year-on-year increase in its net profit in the first quarter of this year.
The Chinese news agency Xinhua reported that the net profit attributable to the parent company amounted to 43.62 billion yuan (about 6.3 billion US dollars) in the first three months of this year, the company said in a statement submitted to the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The company’s business revenue fell 6 percent to 732.47 billion yuan during the period.
