The health department swung into action as soon as the information about sale of adulterated paneer including adulteration came to the fore and started sampling by conducting raids. Surat’s health department has become active after the fake cheese making factory was caught in Gatroj.
To find out whether cheese is being sold fake or adulterated, raids have been conducted at 18 places in the eighth zone of Surat. However, with the raids, rumors spread among people dealing in dairy products. The raids come after reports of several items being sold in the state being fake or injurious to health. In Rajkot city, the health department has busted a fake paneer making factory.
After thousands of kilos of paneer caught in Rajkot were found to be spurious and injurious to health, on Wednesday, the Health Department teams of Surat Municipal Corporation formed 18 teams and raided the traders selling the products in the eighth zone of Surat. Samples of all these cheese will be examined and if the cheese is fake or adulterated, the shop owner will be fined along with legal action. Apart from this, action will also be taken.
