Qatar Chamber revealed an increase in private sector exports during the first quarter of 2023, with a growth rate of 17.5% compared to the first quarter of last year 2022, to reach 9.1 billion Qatari riyals, compared to 7.73 billion riyals.
The Chamber indicated in its quarterly report issued today that, according to the type of certificates of origin, the value of exports through the general form certificate increased to reach about 7.35 billion riyals, up by 32.3% from its value during the first quarter of last year, which at that time amounted to about 5.55 billion riyals. The certificate of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the value of exports through it increased by 26.8%, reaching about 1.46 billion riyals, compared to about 1.15 billion riyals during the first quarter of the year 2022. As for the Arab region certificate model, the value of exports through it decreased by 52.5%, amounting to about 139.3 million riyals, compared to about 293.3 million riyals that were exported during the first quarter of last year.
The report pointed to a decrease in the value of exports through the Certificate of Preferences model by 97.5%, reaching about 15.18 million riyals, while during the same period last year it amounted to about 616.4 million riyals. riyals compared to about 106.7 million riyals during the same period last year.
He explained that the increase in the value of exports is mainly due to the group of base oils and industrial oils during the first quarter of this year, by a large percentage of 222%, amounting to about 5.66 billion Qatari riyals, compared to the value of about 1.75 billion riyals that were exported from this group during the same quarter of the year 2022. .
In a related context, the report showed that the Asian group (excluding the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab countries) topped the list of the most important export destinations for the Qatari private sector, according to the certificates of origin issued by the Chamber. Total exports, and the group of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries came in second place, which received 16.8% of total exports, with a value of about 1.52 billion riyals. .
According to the report, the number of countries that received Qatari private sector exports during the first quarter of 2023 reached about 96 countries.
China topped the list of the most important trading partners according to countries that represented destinations for private sector exports during the first quarter of this year, receiving exports with a value of 3.1 billion riyals, or 34.1% of the total exports, followed by India, which received exports with a value of about 2.4 billion Qatari riyals, which is The equivalent of 26% of total exports, then the Sultanate of Oman came in third place, as its markets received exports amounting to about 989 million Qatari riyals, with a rate of 10.9%.
