New Delhi, May 01 (Hindustan Times). Wholesale sales of the country’s largest automaker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSI) grew by seven per cent to 1,60,529 units in April. The company’s domestic sales increased nine per cent year-on-year to 1,43,558 units in April.
MSI said in a statement on Monday that its total wholesale sales in April grew by seven per cent to 1,60,529 units. In the same period last year, the company had dispatched 1,50,661 units to the dealers. According to the company, its domestic sales grew nine per cent year-on-year to 1,43,558 units in April.
According to the company, sales of small cars like Alto and S-Presso declined by 18 per cent year-on-year to 14,110 units during this period. At the same time, sales in the compact segment grew by 27 per cent to 74,935 units. This segment includes vehicles like Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire.
MSI said that sales of vehicles such as Brezza, Grand Vitara and Ertiga increased by eight per cent to 36,754 units in April. However, exports declined by eight per cent to 16,971 units as compared to 18,413 units in April last year.
