The state provides promising opportunities to encourage investors

His Excellency Mr. Sultan bin Rashid Al Khater, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, participated in the work of the second edition of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, which was held from 27-28 April in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan.
The forum witnessed the participation of senior officials from the Qatar Investment Authority, the Qatar Financial Center and the Investment Promotion Agency, as well as senior officials in the government and private sectors from the Uzbek side.
On the sidelines of the forum, a bilateral meeting was held between His Excellency Dr. Shavkat Mirzayev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and His Excellency Mr. Sultan bin Rashid Al Khater, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry; His Excellency also met with HE Mr. Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the meetings, they reviewed issues of common interest with the aim of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the sectors of trade, investment and industry, in addition to exchanging views on the topics on the agenda of the forum.
During the meetings, His Excellency also shed light on the successful economic policies established by the State of Qatar to support the private sector, indicating the incentives, legislation and promising opportunities available in the country aimed at encouraging investors, businessmen and owners of companies to invest in the State of Qatar.
It should be noted that the Tashkent International Investment Forum aims to highlight the investment potential in the Republic of Uzbekistan to the international investment and business communities, thus attracting foreign investment leaders, major financial and economic institutions and companies interested in entering the Uzbek market.
For its part, the second edition of the forum witnessed the organization of a number of working sessions and round tables that focused on a number of topics, including environmental and social practices and corporate governance, enhancing the role of women in the field of developing small and medium enterprises, and private sector investments in the development of infrastructure projects, tourism and retail trade. Opportunities and challenges, e-commerce – new horizons and opportunities, prospects for development in the field of digitization of small and medium enterprises, and other axes.
