Relations with China deteriorated due to violation of border agreements: Jaishankar

Santo Domingo, April 29 (Hindustan Times). Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar has said that India’s relations with China have deteriorated due to the violation of border agreements. He spoke of taking forward relations with all countries without conditions.

Jaishankar, who arrived on his first visit to the Dominican Republic, inaugurated India’s embassy there along with Vice President Raquel Peña. Interacting with the children of the Diplomatic School of Dominican Republic, the Indian External Affairs Minister said that India has witnessed a massive expansion in connectivity and cooperation across the region. However, Pakistan remains an exception in the wake of cross-border terrorism.

He said that India has good relations with most of the countries. Whether it is America, Europe, Russia or Japan, we are trying to ensure that all these relations go ahead without any conditions. Jaishankar said that at present our relations with China are not normal as it continues to violate the agreements on the border. He said that the relationship cannot be one sided and there should be mutual respect to sustain it.
