After taking action against the fruit traders selling mangoes ripe with chemical carbide, the Food Department of Surat Municipal Corporation has now raided the traders selling mango juice in the name of Mango Milk Shake.
The Food Department of the Municipal Corporation took a sample of mango juice and sent it to the laboratory for examination. The municipal administration has said that if any sample fails, action will be taken against such traders.
In summer, more mango juice is sold in Surat than mangoes. There is a shortage of mangoes in Surat but the sale of mango juice in the name of Mango Milkshake is in full swing. In some cases, complaints are also being received that mango juice has been adulterated.
In view of the apprehension of danger to the health of the people from such juice, the Municipal Corporation has started the process of taking samples of the juice. The municipality has taken samples from traders selling mango juice in different zones and sent them to the laboratory for testing.
