New Delhi, 26 April (Hindustan Times). The Income Tax Department has released Income Tax Return (ITR) Form-1 and 4 for the financial year 2023-24. The Income Tax Department has not issued online ITR forms at present, but has issued offline ITR-1 and 4 forms for filing ITR for FY 2023-24 and FY 2022-23.
The Income Tax Department on Wednesday notified regarding the issuance of ITR-1 and 4 forms on the e-filing portal. According to the department, Excel utilities of ITR Form-1 and Form-4 for the assessment year 2023-24 are available for filing. The department said that the JSON utility for ITR-1 and 4 is yet to be released. According to the Income Tax Department, Excel utilities are defined tools that taxpayers can use to enter their income and other details required for filing ITR.
According to the department, ITR-1 form can be filed by an individual with income up to Rs 50 lakh, while ITR-4 form is to be filed by individuals, Hindu Undivided Families (HUFs) and firms earning income from businesses. According to the Income Tax Department, ITR Form-1 and Form-4 for the assessment year 2023-24 are available in Excel http:incometax.gov.in, which will be made available soon on the online e-filing portal of the Income Tax Department.
