Surat: Two laborers died due to electrocution while turning embroidery machine in Kamrej

In Surat, two artisans have died due to electrocution in an embroidery factory in Amrit Udyog Nagar, Kholvad village of Kamrej. While taking a part of the machine out of the window to change the fabric of the embroidery machine, both the laborers got electrocuted when a part of the machine got stuck in the high tension line outside the window. The entire incident has been recorded in the CCTV cameras installed in the factory. As soon as the current started, the workers fell in the factory. While being taken to the hospital for treatment, the doctor on duty declared both the artisans brought dead. Kamrej police have taken legal action by registering a case of accidental death in the whole matter.

Rajeshbhai Savjibhai Varadiya’s embroidery factory is located in Amrit Udyog Nagar, Kamrej Kholwad village, Surat. Originally two artisans named Bhagwan Singh Sahab Singh Rajput (age 27) and Satish Kumar Malikhan Singh Rajput (age 28) from UP were working here. Bhagwansingh and Satish Kumar were working on the embroidery machine on the second floor of the factory, while rotating the cloth in the machine, the embroidery machine was 30 feet long, which had to be replaced. Then Bhagwan Singh and Satishmar hurriedly took out one end of the machine from the window which stuck to the high tension line of the power supply passing outside the window. Due to which both the artisans got electrocuted.

Both the laborers got electrocuted when a part of the machine fell on the high tension line. Both the laborers fell on the ground as soon as the current started. Due to electrocution, the laborers working in the factory came running and immediately admitted both the laborers to the nearest hospital for treatment. But the doctor on duty declared both brought dead. The incident of electrocution was captured in the CCTV camera installed in the factory. Shocking CCTV footage of the incident has also come to the fore. In which the laborer falls on the ground in just a second after getting electrocuted.

On getting information about the incident, Kamrej police and Chandraprakash Rajput, uncle of the deceased Bhagwan Singh Rajput, along with other villagers reached the spot. While the CCTV footage of the embroidery factory has been seized by the police, necessary action has been taken by registering a case of accidental death. Action was taken to take the dead bodies of Bhagwan Singh Rajput and Satish Rajput to their native Uttar Pradesh.
