IPL: RCB beat Rajasthan Royals by seven runs

Bangalore, 23 April (Hindustan Times). In the 32nd match played on Sunday in the Indian Premier League (IPL-2023), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Rajasthan Royals by 7 runs. Batting first in the match, RCB scored 189 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. In response, the Rajasthan Royals team could only manage 182 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. With this win, RCB’s team reached number five in the points table. RCB have faced four wins and three losses in 7 matches. On the other hand, Rajasthan’s team is still number one in the points table with 4 wins and 3 losses in 7 matches.

Chasing the target of 190 runs, Rajasthan Royals got off to a bad start. Opener Jos Buttler got out without opening an account. Mohammad Siraj clean bowled him. After the fall of the first wicket, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal handled the innings. Padikkal completed his half-century and took the team closer to 100 runs. However, after this he was dismissed after scoring 52 runs in 34 balls. Rajasthan’s third wicket fell in the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal. Yashasvi scored 47 runs in 37 balls. Virat Kohli, who was captaining the match, got out without playing an account. He was dismissed by fast bowler Trent Boult. Boult also took the second wicket of RCB. Bolt caught out by Shahbaz Ahmed. Shahbaz scored 4 runs. After this, Faf Duplessis took over the team along with Glenn Maxwell. Both batted well. Both scoring half-centuries took the team’s score to 130 in 13 overs. RCB’s third wicket has fallen on the score of 139 runs. Faf Duplessis was run out after scoring 62 runs in 39 balls. He hit eight fours and two sixes in his innings. RCB’s fourth wicket fell in the form of Maxwell. Maxwell scored 77 runs in 44 balls with the help of 6 fours and 4 sixes. After the fall of Maxwell’s wicket, no other batsman could do anything amazing. The team scored 189 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Mahipal Lomror scored 8 runs, Dinesh Karthik scored 16 runs, Vanindu Hasaranga scored 6 runs.

For Rajasthan, Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma took two wickets each, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yajuvendra Chahal took one wicket each.
