The state government has started an intensive cleanliness campaign from April 22 at holy pilgrimage sites across the state. Under this, two AMCs, four supervisors and 123 sanitation workers of Vadodara Corporation have been sent on duty in the cleanliness drive at Pavagadh and Kuber Bhandari Yatradham.
Instructions have been given to keep clean not only the temples but also the roads connecting the temples and the premises.
Pilgrims expect good cleanliness in pilgrimage sites. For this, the state government has taken the step of cleanliness all over India. As a part of which, Gujarat Holy Pilgrimage Development Board and Government’s Gujarat Tourism Corporation has launched Yatradham cleaning campaign on 22-04-2023. Under this cleanliness drive, the government has partnered the Vadodara Municipal Corporation in the cleanliness drive at Pavagadh and Kuber Bhandari (Karnali), a pilgrimage site near Vadodara city. In which two supervisors and 65 sweepers have been allotted in Pavagadh from south and west zone and two supervisors and 58 sweepers from Kuber Bhandari (Karnali) in north and east zone.
Light, machinery and dustbin will be arranged
Under the cleanliness campaign at the pilgrimage site, Assistant Municipal Commissioner (West Zone) Suresh S. Tuvar will have to coordinate the cleaning campaign of Pavagadh Yatradham and Assistant Municipal Commissioner (East Zone) Fatabhai Baria at Kuber Bhandari (Karnali) Yatradham. It is worth mentioning that for cleaning, arrangements for lights, machinery and dustbins will be made as per the requirement. Also the collected waste will be safely shifted to the dumping site designated by the local authority. Water jets and scrubbers have also been used during the cleaning drive.
