Brahmo Samaj will keep distance from baraat and DJ in marriage ceremony

An important initiative has been taken by the Brahmo Samaj with the aim of preventing extravagance in marriages and other events and reducing the financial burden. In Banaskantha district, Brahmo Samaj has banned DJ playing, dandiya raas and taking out processions in marriage ceremonies. A social ban has also been imposed on decorating the bride and groom with a beauty parlour. Apart from this, it has been decided to complete the rituals related to death in 12 days instead of 1.5 months.

Brahmo Samaj has made many new rules in the interest of the society in the function organized in Deesa of Banaskantha. Concern was expressed on behalf of the society over extravagance in marriage ceremonies. For this, Banaskantha Brahmo Samaj has banned playing DJ, performing Dandiya Raas and taking out processions in marriage ceremonies. Apart from this, to reduce the wedding expenses, it has been decided not to decorate the room with turmeric. It has also been asked to stop soft drinks, extra breakfast in marriage. It has been advised to keep 3 sweets, 2 vegetables, dal-rice, namkeen, puri-roti in the food of the marriage ceremony. There is a special ban on firecrackers and sprays in marriages.
