The decision is related to the attempt to visit Gagauzia by the leader of Tatarstan, a region of the Russian Federation, who was banned from entering the territory of our country on April 17.

Later, the Border Police issued a statement stating that Rustam Minnikhanov, the head of the state of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, was not declared persona non grata. The leader of Tatarstan would not have been allowed to enter our country because he could not justify the purpose of the trip.

At the same time, the subject was the target of an exchange of heated remarks during the Government meeting on April 19. The Prime Minister reacted harshly to the attempt of a foreign delegation led by the leader of Tatarstan, a region of the Russian Federation, to enter the Republic of Moldova with the destination of UTA Gagauzia. The speech ended with heated exchanges between Recean and the Basque Irina Vlah.
