“We consider the decision of the Moldovan authorities to be another unfriendly step not only towards Tatarstan and UTA Gagauzia, but also towards Russia. The gesture is aimed at undermining the traditional close cooperation between the regions of our countries. We are sure that such an anti-Russian attitude does not find support in the general public of the Republic of Moldova. We officially appeal to Chisinau to listen to the interests of its own citizens and not prevent the development of human contacts and interregional ties with Russia,” Zakharov said, according to a statement published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

We mention that on Monday, an international congress of popular diplomacy “Friendship of peoples 2023” took place in UTA Gagauzia. Rustam Minnikhanov would have started in autonomy at the invitation of the leader of the “People’s Union of Gagauzia” movement, local parliament member Viktor Petrov and Moldovan parliament member Alexander Suhodolschi.

We specify that the head of Tatarstan sent a message from the plane announcing that he was not allowed to enter the territory of the Republic of Moldova and was declared undesirable.

Later, the Border Police issued a statement stating that Rustam Minnikhanov, the head of the state of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, was not declared persona non grata. The leader of Tatarstan would not have been allowed to enter our country because he could not justify the purpose of the trip.
