Americans and Britons are addicted to full stop and possibly are heading towards embracing a similar fate of Soviet Union – meaning a sudden collapse. According to vocabulary, full stop is a punctuation mark used at the end of a sentence or an abbreviation or used to suggest that there is nothing more to say on a topic. It is like a complete cessation as a proverb say – “her life had simply come to a full stop” – we can assume America and Britain’s very existence is possibly heading towards a “full stop” anytime soon.
Okay, let me make the titled topic a bit explained. Soviet Union, in full Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (U.S.S.R.), Russian Soyuz Sovetskikh Sotsialisticheskikh Respublik or Sovetsky Soyuz, former northern Eurasian empire (1917/22–1991) stretching from the Baltic and Black seas of the Pacific Ocean and, in its final years, consisting of 15 Society Socialist Republics (S.S.R) – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belorussia (now Belarus), Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kirgiziya (now Kyrgyzstan), Latvia, Lithuania, Maldavia (now Moldova), Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. The capital of U.S.S.R or S.S.R was Moscow, then and now the capital of Russia.
It took just 69 years for the U.S.S.R to collapse as it was founded on December 30 1922 and collapsed in 1991. Just 69 years!
Americans do not write ‘US’ – instead they write ‘U.S.’. Even they do not write Washington DC. They write ‘Washington D.C.’. Similarly, Britons don’t write ‘UK’. They write ‘U.K.’. Full stop addiction, similarly as U.S.S.R.
Let me ask a straight question. Isn’t United States a country? Is so, why do they write U.S. instead of US? Why divide the name of a country by putting a full stop? If United States is ‘U.S.’ can we write – for example Joe.Biden and or for example Donald.Trump?
In fact, even during this modern age, Americans and Britons are indulged into ridiculous addiction of full stops or orthodoxies. Or possibly it is fate of the U.S. and U.K. to embrace a similar fate of U.S.S.R.
United Kingdom was founded in 1922 – almost at the same time of the Soviet Union. United States was founded on July 4, 1776. Meaning, America is much older in age than Soviet Union or Britain. Now American politics is gradually going into the grips of elderly people – at least the White House. Joe Biden is now 80 years old (born on November 29, 1942). Donald Trump is 76 (born on June 14, 1946). By 2024, when United States shall hold its next presidential election, Joe Biden will be almost 83, Donald Trump 77, Barack Obama (born of August 4, 1961) 62, and Bill Clinton (born on August 19, 1946) 77.
By 2028, Joe Biden shall be 87, Trump 81, Obama 66 and Clinton 81. Except Barack Obama, all of the three men will be pretty old even by 2024. I am just trying to imagine, how will be the US or U.S. under the presidency of an elderly Joe Biden, if he reruns for 2024 and steps into his second term at the age of almost 84. Can he really take care of his day-to-day activities? I think for this Biden should not worry as he even now is not running the presidency. He just is a clumsy puppet run from behind the screen. As full stops, America’s fate is struck into extremely older people. Hope Biden really will rerun for 2024 and win the next election. It will be a great entertainment to see a braindead old guy sitting in a cozy chair in the White House, wearing pampers and slurping ice cream.
