CAPF constable post exams will be conducted in Hindi, English and 13 other Indian languages

New Delhi, 15 April (Hindustan Times). For the post of constable in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), candidates will now be able to take a written test in Hindi, English and 13 other Indian languages. This information was given by the Union Home Ministry in a release on Saturday.

The ministry said that this historic decision has been taken on the initiative of Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah to increase the participation of local youth in CAPFs and to promote regional languages. The ministry said that in addition to Hindi and English, the examination will be conducted in 13 regional languages ​​from January 01, 2024. The Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the conduct of Constable (General Duty) examination for the Central Armed Police Forces in 13 regional languages, apart from Hindi and English. The examinations for the post of constable in CAPFs will now be conducted in Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, Urdu, Punjabi, Manipuri and Konkani along with Hindi and English.

The Ministry of Home Affairs says that as a result of this decision, lakhs of candidates will be able to appear in the examination in their mother tongue / regional language. This will increase their chances of selection. Ministry of Home Affairs and Staff Selection Commission will sign an addendum to the existing MoU to facilitate conduct of examination in multiple Indian languages.

It is to be noted that Constable (General Duty) is one of the major examinations conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. Lakhs of candidates from all over the country participate in it. In addition to Hindi and English, the examination will be conducted from January 01, 2024, in 13 regional languages. The Ministry of Home Affairs says that after this decision it is expected that the State/UT Governments will encourage the local youth to come forward in large numbers to make use of this opportunity to take the exam in their mother tongue and make a career in the service of the country.
