“I said that I will boycott the Parliament sessions until the Constitutional Court makes a decision. It is obvious that the CC will delay the examination of this crime, and its final verdict will be politically motivated and coincide with the anti-people, anti-state and anti-national position of the current authorities. The situation in the country is approaching a critical point. The impudent calls of the authorities to abandon neutrality, democracy, trampling on rights, will lead to the loss of the statehood of the Republic of Moldova”, declared the PCRM leader.
Vladimir Voronin is convinced that the purpose of bringing the assembly to PMAN is to distract people from the failures of power and start the liquidation of the Republic of Moldova as a sovereign state:
“It is necessary to use my experience as a politician. In the near future I will initiate a draft law on lustration. I believe that the people who have tarnished themselves through their activity in responsible public positions, in the 14 governments since 2009, do not have the moral right to hold public positions. The parties advocating for the liquidation of the Republic of Moldova must be banned by law, and the punishment for unionism must be included in the Criminal Code. I intend to propose the legal ban of dual citizenship for the first persons of the state. They require my personal presence at the plenary session”.
We remind you that, on March 22, 2023, the president of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, promulgated the law that provides for the replacement of the phrase “Moldovan language” with “Romanian language” in all laws of the Republic of Moldova.

The draft law was voted on on 16 March 2023 in the final reading with 58 votes and provides that the phrases “official language”, “state language” and “mother tongue” will also be replaced. The voting procedure was marked by a protest by members of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BCS) who demanded the rejection of the initiative.
We specify that Maria Zaharova declared that the Romanian language should actually be called “Moldovan”. The spokeswoman for Foreign Affairs of the Kremlin wrote that “historical linguistics has established a consensus regarding the Moldavian and Romanian languages”.
Zaharova pointed out that the Moldovan language is mentioned in works from the 17th century, and the Romanian language was mentioned even earlier, until the 16th century, while the Romanian language did not exist then. “If they want to rewrite the names of the languages, the historical logic must be followed, namely the Romanian language should be called Moldovan, not the other way around,” she said.
Later, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE) came up with a reaction to the statements made by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zaharova, who said that the Romanian language should actually be called “Moldovan”. The Chisinau authorities mentioned that “we do not accept history lessons”.
