Qatar Tourism announces the activities of Garangao Night

Qatar Tourism announced the Garangao activities that will be held tomorrow, April 5, in cooperation with Ashghal, the Supervisory Committee for Beautification of Roads and Public Places in the country, Qatar Airways and Ooreedo.
Events are held at Corniche Plaza. It includes theatrical performances as well as art and design workshops. On a specially designed stage for this event, families will witness a range of joyful activities that educate and entertain their children. Starting at 8pm, there will be puppet shows, contests, prizes, fashion show and prizes for the best Garangao costume for girls and boys.
Moreover, the surrounding area will witness a painting workshop with Qatari artist and wildlife photographer Azzam Al-Mannai, where children will be provided with the materials and tools needed to create a unique work of art. A parallel workshop will be held in cooperation with the Lebanese artist Iyad Moawad, which includes works of cloth and acrylic.
In collaboration with Tribatola, this event will welcome girls to learn more about the tournament, decorate it and create designs of their own.
Celebrating the cultural handicraft of Sadu weaving, this workshop will have children learn the traditional method of weaving from a hand weaving teacher and make their own friendship bracelet.
All workshops will have 4 sessions throughout the evening, each lasting 45 minutes and accommodating 16 children per round. Guests will have the opportunity to paint their hands with henna, a traditional symbol of good luck, health and beauty.
In collaboration with Azzam Al-Mannai, kids can take instant selfies against a special backdrop featuring one of the amazing landscape shots taken by the artist himself.
It is one of the long and beloved traditions of Ramadan. The ‘Masahar’ will roam the area calling out Ramadan chants, replicating the role this special character plays in waking up a neighborhood to eat Suhoor before the dawn of a new day of fasting. The magician will also distribute gifts to the audience.
It wouldn’t be Garangao without an amazing array of sweets, kids will get delicious bags of sweets to enjoy.
